2020 Lockdown Defenders

<p>Everybody loves the offensive side of the game, but I personally value the defensive side of the ball way more than the offensive. Today we highlight some of the best defenders in the 2020 class. Prospects could specialize in perimeter or post defense, we will be covering both styles of defense.</p>
<p><strong>Osasere Ighodaro 6'9 2020 F Desert Vista</strong></p>
<p>Ighodaro has the size and speed to be a lockdown defender. He has the foot speed and wing span to disrupt perimeter players, while having the height and length to turn away shots down low. When Osasere is on the floor, there is always a chance for a big time highlight block. </p>
<p><strong>Evan Nelson 6'3 2020 G Salpointe Catholic</strong></p>
<p>Nelson is what I think about as the prototypical perimeter defender. He is more than capable of getting steals and blocks but doesn't really need to. He is really good at keeping his man in front of him and beating them with his feet. Nelson easily goes over screens and can stay with his man due to his elusiveness and lateral speed. </p>
<p><strong>Jabari Walker 6'7 2020 F AZ Compass Prep</strong></p>
<p>Walker is another one of those freak athletes that make for an amazing defender. The kid has an insane wing span, obviously since he stands at 6'7. Jabari is also very athletic and can keep up with the majority of perimeter players. His rare combination of speed and length makes him a nightmare for perimeter players. </p>
<p><strong>Kiimani Holt 6'3 2020 G PHH Prep</strong></p>
<p>Holt has his own combination of physical gifts that make him a tough defender. As anyone in AZ knows, Holt is very strong and has a very big build. He can push out defenders and bully them with his overwhelming strength. Match that with his insane athleticism, desire to stop his opponent, and quickness and boom...you have a lockdown defender. </p>
