Throughout the summer and fall players have been training, practicing and playing, all in an effort to put forth a great school season. And now they have the opportunity to put all of their hard work on display. As we embark on the beginning of the 2019-2020 basketball season, let’s take a look at the first 10 unsigned seniors that I will keep a close eye on (in no particular order). Get EXCITED! It’s that time of year again!!

Elijah Elliott – 6’0 PG – Yates High School

Elijah is a high IQ point guard that can beat opposing teams in a myriad of ways. He is a three level scorer with great lateral movement and quick hands on defense. Moreover, Elliot is a tremendous leader which may be his most overlooked asset as a player.

Roland McDougal – 6’4 Guard – Legacy School of Sports Science

Being a long, wiry and athletic guard, McDougal can surprise you with some of the plays he can make at the rim. He has apparently worked on his jumper over the summer because he has been more efficient from deep which makes him tough to defend.

Danny McAdory – 6’5 Wing – Fort Bend Bush High School

McAdory is in the running for “Most Athletic” in the class of 2020. He has a nice turn around mid-range game to compliment his high flying attack. Add that with the length and the strength to defend multiple positions, and you have yourself a solid prospect.

Nate Lacewell - 6’7 Forward – Legacy School of Sports Science

Lacewell has always been an interesting watch for me. He is extremely long and at this level, his height has him playing the post by default. But the coaching staff at Legacy does a solid job of opening the floor and allowing his to display his strong, guard skill set.

Davon Wright – 6’5 Guard – Cy Springs High School

As the young people say, Davon “is a bucket.” He is a three level scorer that causes mismatch problems for opposing teams because of his size. In addition, he is a capable defender and is above average athletically. I would not be surprised to see him average 20+ points this year.

Daylan Hamilton – 6’3 Guard – Klein Forest High School

Fresh off a state title run from last year, Hamilton comes into this season as the unquestioned go-to guy for Klein Forest. He has a nice build for an off the ball guard and can really shoot the deep ball efficiently. Additionally, defensively he can guard multiple positions.

Jordan Ivy Curry – 6’1 PG – LaMarque High School

Ivy-Curry can score any which way that you want him to. He has a knack for always remaining on balance which allows him to strike from multiple angles. Athletically, he has the ability to dunk in traffic and his ball handling skills ties everything together.

Antwon Norman – 6’0 PG – Yates High School

Antwon plays like a seasoned pro. He is always poised and level-headed; he minimizes mistakes and has a high IQ on both ends of the floor. Also, he can score the ball at an efficient rate. His offensive game often overshadows his defensive game where he creates a lot of turnovers.

Justin Hill – 6’0 PG –Fort Bend Travis High School

Although Hill is not to tallest point guard ever, he still possesses a body frame that can play on any level. He dictates the pace of the game well and uses his body well to create advantageous scoring opportunities. In addition, he is athletic and has great vision.

Blessings Adesipe – 6’5 Forward – Alief Taylor High School

Adesipe is a stretch four that will most likely transition into being a full time wing. He has a soft touch from the perimeter but is more effective when he attacks the paint. Defensively, he plays excellent help defense and protects the rim at all costs.
