<p>VYPE held their annual High School Preseason Shootout on October 12th, 2019 in Houston, Texas. I was in attendance to watch the games at the event and here are some prospects who stood out the most at the event. </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Kobe Haynes</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">5’10 PG • 2021 • Houston Christian</span> </strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Was super pesky on the ball. Forced a dozen of turnovers. Caused his opponent a lot of frustration that he received a technical foul. Was able to penetrate the lane and finished well at the rim. Got his teammates engaged in the game. He is one of the top shooters in his class as well. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/noah-kon/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Noah Kon</span></a> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’1 PG • 2021 • Houston Christian</span> <a href="https://prephoops.com/texas/rankings/2021-rankings/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">PH</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">TX</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">75</span></a></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Noah is currently ranked 31st in the State of Texas for his class. Noah was showing off his bounce by pinning shots on the glass and his ability to knock down some tough mid-range pull-ups. Strong guard with great speed and quickness. Has solid IQ as well as he threw a ton of off look passes.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/pierce-spencer/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Pierce Spencer</span></a> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’2 SG • 2020 • Lake Creek HS</span> <span style="color: #ff0000;">[Nicholls State]</span><a href="https://prephoops.com/texas/rankings/2020-rankings/"><span style="color: #ff6600;"> PH</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">TX</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">150</span></a></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pierce is currently ranked 119th in the state of Texas for his class. Pierce was able to get where he wanted on the court. Showcased his nasty dribble combos to create for himself and splash it nothing but net from deep. His ability to create for himself opened up the game for his teammates. He is committed to Nicholls State University. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cameron-clardy/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Cam Clardy</span></a> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’0 PG • 2020 • Bridgeland HS</span> <a href="https://prephoops.com/texas/rankings/2020-rankings/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">PH</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">TX</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">150</span></a></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cameron is ranked 111th in the State of Texas for his class. Was bullying players to the rim. Got his teammates involved in the game. Has a nice strong handle on the ball with good speed. Was able to speed up and slow down the tempo at will. Would be solid on the D2/D3 level as a floor general. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Kendall Cross</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">5’10 G • 2022 • Cypress Park HS</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Was deadly from behind the arc. Good catch and shoot prospect that has a nice handle on the ball. Moved well without the ball also. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/nate-martin/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Nate Martin</span></a> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’8 PF • 2020 • Cypress Creek HS</span> <span style="color: #800000;">[Texas State]</span> <a href="https://prephoops.com/texas/rankings/2020-rankings/"><span style="color: #ff6600;">PH</span><span style="color: #ff9900;">TX</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">150</span></a></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Is currently ranked 34th in the state of Texas for his class. The Texas State Bobcat commit was a man among boys on the low block. Showed his nice footwork in the post. Fought for position and won every time. He even handled the ball bringing it up to release the pressure from the guards. He was also aggressive on the boards and had some nice dunks. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Hudson Boyd</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">6’3 G • 2021 • Lake Creek HS</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He was shooting the leather off the ball. He also had some tough finishes at the rim as he was able to get into the lane. Active on the defensive side of the ball. He got busy on the glass as he pulled in a handful of rebounds.</span></p>
