Conference Commentary
Potential Top Ten: Chaska, BSM
Chaska did lose their top two scorers but they bring back everything else. This year’s Chaska Hawks will be big, talented, skilled, and should have great team chemistry. If they aren’t top ten to start the year, they are 11th. It’s going to be another excellent year for the well coached Hawks. As far as BSM goes things should take a step forward. Nick Peterson might be the best leader and worker around while Walker Johnson knocks shots down. Depth is there for a top 15 level team at the start of the year and where they go from there will be interesting. A new era.
Compete with Most: St. Louis Park, Chanhassen, Jefferson
The Orioles surprised people last season and we think they will surprise people once again with talented guard play and agile wings. Paris Johnson could have a monster season. Chanhassen lost most of their rotation but Luke Glitzen should have another big year and we like their junior class. Jefferson lost a lot but Manny Montgomery could have a huge season plus there are some young pieces.
Rebuilding: Cooper, Kennedy
Cooper lost four of their top guys and only has a few players to step into their place. We think Bo Powell Jr could have a huge year but help will be needed. Kennedy only won six games last season and lost their best players. Another year of rebuilding for the Eagles.
