5’10 Darius Turner – Fort Zumwalt West
Darius is looking to build off a solid junior season where he averaged 14 points per game at FZW. He can score it in a variety ways, but on Saturday he will filling it up from three. Word of advice to defenders, close to him hard with a hand up or he will make you pay.
6’0 Rashad Weekly-McDaniels – Trinity
One of the elite prospects on display at the Expo. He is strong, physical, crafty, and has elite vision. He was able to pick and choose for the most part what he wanted to do Saturday. Need a bucket? He will get downhill on you with force then finish you off with a tough euro and kiss off the glass. Teammate need a bucket? He knows exactly how to set defenders up and can zip dimes through the tightest of windows.
6’1 Charles Wilson – Rockbridge
Solid all around lead guard with plus athleticism and a tight handle. He may have had the best “ankle-breaking” crossover of the day. Capable of shouldering the scoring load when needed and is efficient as a distributor.
6’1 Ethan Worley – Hillsboro
Most vocal player in the gym on Saturday and that communication alone made his team more crisp and cohesive than others. He was also probably the most scrappy player overall on both ends of the floor. He plays aggressive and tough. Mixes it up on the glass. Gets on the floor. Sneaky athletic and can finish at the rim. Plus shooter.
6’7 Evan Worley – Hillsboro
Protected the rim and defended the paint with the best of them Saturday. Blocked probably over a dozen shots on the day. Finesse game in the paint. Uses his length well. Has a nice one-foot turnaround jumper. Operates like a wing on the perimeter. Three-point threat that can bury them in the pick and pop or off the bounce.
5’10 Justin Smith – CBC
May have been the quickest guard I saw Saturday. Absolutely flies up the floor whether it’s leaking out or leading the break. He’s a shadow as an on ball defender, who can afford to gamble a bit because he is quick enough to recover without getting burned.
6’1 Caleb Irons – Saint Charles
Solid guard who can play on or off the ball. Handles it well enough to run the show effectively. Capable shooter. Showed good instincts and quick hands on the defensive end.
