The South Granville Vikings should be a team to watch this upcoming season especially with Bobby Pettiford Jr. in the lineup. They’re a squad that goes as Pettiford does and its with good reason. He’s a player that can go out and score 30-40 points a game and make it look effortless. He put up 19.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game in 2018-29.

Pettiford is a playmaker with weapons around him and given how things ended last season, the expectations are a lot higher with more talent on the team. There's 2020 guards Micah Jones and Wykise Allen. Jones is a lights out 3-point shooter that shot 37 percent from 3-point land and Allen is a guard that can get to the rim whenever he wants. He averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in 2018-19. 2021 Daniel Jones is back as well, a gritty two-way guard that gets after it on both ends.

2020 guard Kobe Jones is a new addition from Granville Central. He can jump out of the gym and his floor game is really coming along. 2021 forward Adrian Carneal is another player that's coming along and getting more aggressive on the glass and in the paint.

2021 guard Christian Byrd and 2022 guard Collin Tanner are two other reserves that are due to contribute mightily. Both of them can fill it up from 3-point range and Tanner is a player that's grown from 5-foot-11 to roughly 6-foot-4 entering his sophomore season.

From top to bottom, the Vikings are set to field a talented group of guys that can have a deep run in the state tournament. It would be a surprise to not see them win the Northern Carolina Conference as they're bound to be the pre-season favorite. Now, they'll just need to execute when the season arrives.
