Here are some teams that could show the most improvement from a season ago:
Enderlin
Enderlin loses its top perimeter player in Chance Bye but returns a monster frontcourt with the Hurlburt brothers plus a number of young perimeter pieces who played as underclassmen. Enderlin may not be favored in Region 1, but the Eagles absolutely have the talent to not only improve on their 10-win campaign from a year ago, but make noise in the postseason.
Bowman County
Bowman County won 14 games last season but returns its top two scorers in Caleb Duffield and Jacob Svihovec, which represents one of the best one-two punches in Class B. With two other key rotation guys back, the Bulldogs could be a dark horse contender in Region 7.
Our Redeemer
The Knights were a middling team a year ago before making a run to the Region 6 championship game. But they’ve got all but two players back including standouts in Levi Weekly and Zachary Hendrickson. Defense wasn’t a problem last year as the Knights allowed just 52 points per game. If they can improve even marginally on the offensive end, they could make another deep run in the postseason.
Linton/HMB
The Lions finished with 11 wins last season but return arguably the best player in Region 3 in Lucas Schumacher and a junior class that has a lot of talent. They don’t have a lot of size, but they are skilled. And in what should be a flat Region 3, they’ve got the upside to contend.
