With some of SoCal’s top players showing up and showing out, a few stood out and proved that they are ready for this upcoming high school season. The gym was packed with fans and media and had the feel of a drew league game with the level of competition that played. There was a lot of high flying dunk highlights, guards showing off long range jump shots and crazy handles. There where a lot of players that had some great highlights in this game but I’m gonna point out a few players that really showed up and showed out.
2021 6″3 G KJ SIMPSON (Chaminade)
VERY HIGH MOTOR!!!
KJ was very impressive as he usually is every time I watch him play. He was everywhere on the court and didn’t shy off on the defensive end like you would normally see in a showcase game. KJ got to the rim at will and finished with a few high flying dunks showing off his crazy athleticism. He also showed how smart of a player he is by finding teammates in transition and pushing the pace on offense. He is gonna be tough to handle this up coming season in the Los Angeles, Mission League.
2021 6″5 F CHRIS PAGE (Fremont)
SHOT BLOCKER!!!
Chris really showed off his range from behind the arc in this game. His length gives him a huge advantage shooting over most guards he will face. He also attacked the rim well when he didn’t have a shot finishing above the rim through contact. He also does great using his long frame to block and change shots. Looking forward to following him this up coming season.
2020 6″3 G Keith Dinwiddie (Fairfax)
ELITE SCORER!!!
One of SoCal’s top prospects and he showed why at this showcase. Showing off an arsenal of moves he has in order to get his shot off Keith scored at will. He also showed that he can find his teammates via dribble penetration getting them easy shots. Kieth will be looking to finish off his High School season on a high note by hopefully leading his team to a state game.
2020 5″11 G Jordan Fuller (Village Christian)
SHOOTER!!!
Jordan was on fire at the showcase draining 3 after 3 and getting to the basket anytime he wanted to. He also showed his athleticism getting into the paint and finishing above the rim. He’s shooting the ball with high confidence from behind the arc and continues to play with a big chip on his shoulder. He’s primed to have a big senior year under new head coach Julien Andrade.
2020 6″3 G Jailen Jones (Fremont)
MAJOR SLEEPER!!!
MVP for this showcase stepping up huge for his team at the end of the game. He was pretty much un stoppable scoring from all over the court to cut the deficit and bring his team the win. Jailen is a transfer from Mississippi and is very talented on both ends of the court. He has a very high IQ and feel for the game. Jailen has great ball handling skills and has above average passing abilities. He had a really good AAU season this year with the A-Team 17 U Elite and will be a sleeper this high school season. Keep and eye out for him!
