2020 Sleeper Prospects in the HoopState

<p>With a new high school season approaching, here's a look at a lot of prospects coaches probably haven't heard much about in the 2020 class.</p> <h5>Ahmil Flowers, Grimsley</h5> <p><strong>Ahmil Flowers</strong> is due to make a college program very happy with his abilities on both ends. Flowers is a solid forward prospect at 6-foot-5 that does well at getting to his spots on the floor and making shots, whether from the wing or in the post. He's down to a final three of High Point, Radford and Western Carolina</p> <h5>Sam Hood, Millbrook</h5> <p><strong>Sam Hood</strong> is due for a breakout season at Millbrook High School this season, especially with their depth on the floor. Hood has the ability to knock it down from 3 and he can play above the rim at 6-foot-8. He's drawn offers from Georgia Southwestern State, Coker College and Elizabeth City State. He could be a late bloomer in the 2020 class.</p> <h5>Trayden Williams, North Mecklenburg</h5> <p>There's been a lot of hype surrounding <strong>Tristan Maxwell</strong> at North Mecklenburg but another prospect that really sets the tone is 6-foot-2 point guard<strong> Trayden Williams</strong>. Williams has the ability to make plays, particularly on defense with his ability to pressure the ball. He's a pest on defense but can also produce on offense as well. He holds offers from Western Carolina, UNC-Asheville and Robert Morris.</p> <h5>Jake Ledbetter, High Point Christian</h5> <p><strong>Jake Ledbetter</strong> is an emerging combo guard that opposing teams don't want to leave open. Ledbetter is a confident scorer off the catch and off the dribble and can fill it up in a hurry. He's not the most athletic guard on the floor but he's got a high IQ made for creating his own shot. He holds an offer from Winston-Salem State.</p> <h5>Chris Nobles, Garner Magnet</h5> <p><strong>Chris Nobles</strong> is quietly climbing up the recruiting radar in North Carolina. Nobles is a prospect on the wing that can really get going, especially on the break with his ability to finish above the rim. He's also an underrated shooter from the perimeter. Norfolk State is his only offer so far.</p> <h5>Traymond Willis-Shaw, Westover</h5> <p><strong>Traymond Willis-Shaw</strong> is an athletic forward that's drawn a lot of interest from DI programs this past summer. He got offers from UNC-Greensboro, South Carolina State and Radford to close out the summer. While he's thin for his size at just 190 pounds, he makes up for it with his ability to rebound, block shots and play above the rim. At the next level though, he'll need to put on some size.</p> <h5>Josiah Shackleford, Word of God</h5> <p><strong>Josiah Shackleford</strong> is a big man to keep an eye on at Word of God Christian Academy. He runs the floor well for his size at 6-foot-8, has a nice touch on his jump shot and finishes strong at the rim when given the touches in the paint. He's had a quiet recruitment but with more eyes on Word of God this season, he should draw some attention. Coppin State is his lone offer.</p>
