Christopher Rich 6’3 PG 2020 Highland (Salt Lake Bounce 17U)
Rich did not do anything flashy, but did a good job of doing the right things over and over again. Due to this team being loaded with guards, he does not always get the opportunity to be a point guard. He plays a versatile role where he can play seemingly four possessions offensively and defensively per game. However, does it well and seeks to make impact plays.
Gabe Soto Gabe Soto 6'2" | CG Juan Diego | 2020 State UT 6’2 PG 2020 Juan Diego (Salt Lake Bounce 17U)
Soto lived in the paint all weekend and did a solid job of putting the basketball on the floor to create for himself and his teammates. In addition to finishing well and making some nice reads, he hit a couple of tough mid-range jumpers and floaters. Soto is crafty and gets to his spots well.
Kobe Schriver 5’8 PG 2021 Roy (UBC Elite 16U)
Schriver’s ability to shoot the basketball from deep is well noted. He is also getting more physically strong which enables him to play against quick and strong guards. He ran the show for his team and did all that he could to put his teammates in productive spots while creating for himself as well. The strongest part of his game is still his ability to let it fly from deep.
Legrand Burgess 6’1 PG 2020 Herriman (UBC Elite 17U)
Burgess is fun to watch. He has a unique rhythm to his game which makes it hard for opposing players to stay in front of him. Against presses and traps, this rhythm helps him greatly. Moreover, he lets the game slow down and makes good decisions with the basketball. In addition to rhythm and good decision making, he was one of the top shooters for UBC over the course of the weekend. He hit a couple of huge threes throughout the course of the event.
Hunter Humphreys 6’0 PG 2020 Alta (UBC Elite 17U)
Humphreys is a really intriguing prospect. Based on the eye test, he should not be able to get into the paint at the level that he does. However, he has a phenomenal change of pace and direction. Further, he is sneaky quick laterally. His in and out gets the opposing team to bite almost every time. Humphreys is able to seemingly get to wherever he needs to on the floor.
