Brian Taylor 6’2″ Knights Basketball Academy: A very athletic two-way point guard from DeSmet who played a big part in KBA’s run to the 15U championship. I was very impressed with how he handled pressure and constantly beat defenders off the dribble and finished at the rim with layups and short jumpers off the glass. His size and length makes him a factor on the defensive end with his ability to put pressure on the ball or pass the passing lanes and trap ball handlers.
Ramirez Taylor 5’9″ Carroll GoL1ve: A quick young point guard from University City was excellent all weekend in leading his team to the championship game. He was a tough cover because of his speed and ability to penetrate into the lane combined with his 3-point shooting range. He was very good off the catch from long distance throughout the tournament..
Casen Lawrence 5’9″ Knights Basketball Academy: A slick point guard from Westminster who plays with a lot of poise and savvy in helping his team win the championship. He is a smooth ball handler with good court vision and high basketball IQ, which enables him to deliver pinpoint passes. He is also a knock down shooter from 3-point range.
Drenin Dinkins 5’9″ Gateway: A very talented offensive player from South Iron who can run the point or play off the ball and get buckets from all three levels. His shooting range is deep and that sets up his ability to put the ball on the floor for mid-range jumpers and takes to the basket. Despite being small, he is fearless and will look for the contact when getting to the basket.
Matt Enright 5’9″ Team Ramey 2021: A lefty combo guard from Webster Groves who played up at the 16U level during the tournament and more than held his own. When he got a good look from 3-point range, he knocked it down with a lot of confidence. He has a good feel for the game with good ball handling and passing ability.
Tresean White 5’10” Carroll GoL1ve: A super quick point guard from Confluence Prep Academy who was one of the best I watched during the weekend at getting to the basket. He displayed some super slick handles which enabled him to get through some tight spots while still advancing the ball. He was also a good finisher at the rim and a good passer. An improved perimeter jumper will make him virtually impossible to guard.
