Ilyaas Harris 5’11” Marquette: Coming off a solid weekend at the Midwest Basketball Showcase, “Biscuit” put on some nice performances at IAABO with buckets and good floor leadership. He’s very quick and has a nice burst in the open court, which leads to easy transition opportunities. His 3-point shooting was good as well as his ability to create jumpers off the dribble with slick escape moves.
Brendan Deters 6’1″ Troy: A solid young point guard with slick handles and a good all-around game to go along with it. He handles the ball against pressure well and he has the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers. He has good size at the point which enables him to pass it well over the defense. Comes from a excellent line of brothers who were standout guards at Troy.
Preston Fortner 5’9″ Francis Howell: A small, yet capable point guard who got a lot of experience playing behind graduated standout Daylan Dalton, but is now ready for full-time duty. He’s quick and he’s good at advancing the ball in an up-tempo game with the dribble or the lead pass. He is an excellent 3-point shooter, which opens up the court for Howell’s talented bigs inside.
Roddy Alexander 5’11” Christian-O’Fallon: A tough, aggressive combo guard who plays the game at one speed and that makes him very successful. He’s coming at the defense with slashing, tough drives to the basket and he doesn’t care who knows it. He has a quick first step and a burst which gets him in the lane repeatedly and he is a good finisher at the rim. I also like his tenacity on the defensive end.
