LAWRENCE, Kan. — The 2019 Hardwood Classic wrapped up on Sunday at the Kansas Sports Pavilion with MoKan Elite 2021 defeating the Missouri Flight in the championships game.
Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the tournament’s top stock risers from the Missouri side.
4 — Maurice Grayer, 6’2, G, 2020, Willard, Missouri Flight
One of the top rising junior guards in southwest Missouri, Grayer is a strong, athletic guard who defends, knocks down shots and can play either guard spot. He can run an offense as the point guard, or run off the ball. He has good size and can finish in traffic over larger defenders. He helped the Missouri Flight advance all the way to Sunday’s 17U championship game.
13 — Conrad Hawley, 6’6, G/F, 2020, Raymore-Peculiar, MoKan EYBL 2021
One of Missouri’s top quarterback prospects in the 2021 class, Raymore-Peculiar rising wing player Conrad Hawley is a talented, jack-of-all-trades type who does whatever it takes to help his team win. He has good size and length, can handle the ball on the wing, is a strong passer, and has a smooth shooting stroke. He has a good feel for the game and the ability to play in the lane or on the perimeter with ease.
11 — Jordan Jermaine, 6’0, G, 2020, Ray-Pec, Team KC Grey
Jermaine was impressive throughout the weekend, showing the ability to control the pace for his team as a standout lead point guard. He rarely makes mistakes with the ball and is a crafty ball handler who uses a nice change of pace to free himself. A standout shooter, Jermaine can put his head down and get to the basket and is a willing and able passer, comfortable helping set up teammates and distribute the ball.
3 — Jalen Perry, 5’10, PG, 2020, MO, MoKan 2020
Perry is s smooth guard who handles it well and can run the point with poise. He has a long range jumper, able to shoot well beyond the arc, and has the ability to get to the basket off the dribble.Perry has drawn some interest from college programs this offseason.
20-Jonathan Thompson, 6’4, F, 2020, Park Hill South, Yobo
An athletic player with who has quick hands and has good downhill momentum. He gets up the floor quickly and can adjust his one-handed floater easily. He uses the glass when he’s close and finds a way to get space when it looks like nothing is available.
