Jemarco Burse 6’2″ SEMO Select: A solid young wing player who plays more of a power forward for his very talented, yet small high school team in South Iron. I get a chance to see more of his perimeter skills during the summer and he has really developed well. He handles the ball and he has an excellent pull up jumper from 15 to 17 feet off the bounce. He also plays stout defense at any position on the floor.
Jackson Neidenbach 6’0″ Arsenal Hoops Elite: One of the top shooters in the event, the DeSmet wing had one of biggest shooting performances of the weekend when he made eight 3-pointers en route to scoring 32 points in a victory over SEMO Select. He couldn’t miss. He has a solid body and he plays well without the basketball. He also had some nice takes in transition.
Brant Gray 6’3″ SEMO Select: A good-sized guard from Farmington with deep range from 3-point territory. He will let it fly from well beyond the 3-point line with confidence. He is starting to attack the basket more on the drive to compliment his perimeter shooting ability as he ascends to a major offensive role at Farmington during the season.
Chris Porter: An excellent 3-point shooter from O’Fallon, IL who is very good off the catch. He is tough to guard because he is always moving and tough to locate, thus he is open quite a bit. He runs hard on the break and will set up shop in the corner. He will also hit you with a hard dribble in the lane to set up an open teammate with an open look.
Levi Boyer 6’3″ Storm Elite: It was my first time seeing this long, athletic wing from East Carter from in action and he was impressive with his ability play both inside and on the perimeter. He has slick moves around the basket and can finish well through the contact. He gets a lot of action done with good cuts to the basket and he can step out and hit a perimeter jumper.
Hasani Spann 6’0″ Team Ramey 2021: The shooting guard from MICDS was only at the tournament for the last day as he returned from a trip out of the country. Despite the jet-lag, he came in firing away from long distance and knocked down 3-pointers. He was good off the catch, but he has also developed some nice escape moves to create space for his perimeter jumpers.
