2020 Rankings Update: Top Post Players

With our first rankings update in 4 months, there has been a significant amount of movement overall but especially in the top 20. Here’s a look at the top post players in the Senior Class.

[player_tooltip player_id="706008" first="JJ" last="Traynor"], Bardstown - Potentially a high major player at the 4 spot, JJ is pushing 6’9 and tries to tear the rim off whenever he can. As his game continues to develop, he has added stretch and become a consistent shooter off a one-dribble pull up. Traynor keeps improving as he gets older and his ceiling as a prospect is higher than anyone in the 2020 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="915105" first="Ksuan" last="Casey"], Madisonville-North Hopkins - Another player whose best basketball lies ahead of him, Ksuan shows flashes of high major potential at times. Casey is a dominant left handed post player that excels at scoring on the low block and has shown the ability to shoot the ball as well. Ksuan’s biggest issue has been and remains to be his conditioning. If he can improve his conditioning, he’ll become an even better athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id="915108" first="Rashad" last="Bishop"], Ballard - One player who doesn’t lack for athleticism is Ballard’s [player_tooltip player_id="915108" first="Rashad" last="Bishop"]. Rashad is pushing 6’7 and plays above the rim. Whether it’s grabbing rebounds with two hands or dunking lobs, Bishop is one of the best run and jump athletes in 2020. His future remains cloudy as Rashad has offers to play football in college as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="915109" first="Noah" last="Courtney"], Male - One of the biggest stock risers in the last few months, Noah has added offers from Georgetown College and Campbellsville University in the last month. Courtney continues to improve as a stretch 4 type who is an excellent rebounder but can also score from the wing. Don’t be surprised if Courtney continues to add offers in the coming months.

[player_tooltip player_id="915113" first="Eli" last="Roberts"], DuPont Manual - Eli has made big strides in his game over the last few years and is one of the best players in Louisville that no one ever talks about because his high school team struggles. As a prospect, Roberts is a 6’7 post who plays with his back to the basket and can finish with either hand. He’s strong and skilled and has shown he can put the ball on the floor. Don’t be surprised to see him land at the D2 or low D1 level on signing day.

Other Names to Know:

Ray Surratt, Lafayette - Skilled big man who can stretch the floor. If he can add some bulk and improve foot speed, he could play D1.

[player_tooltip player_id="915126" first="Riley" last="Bodner"], Lincoln County - One of the state’s best shot blockers and can shoot the ball when given the opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id="915116" first="Joe" last="Meador"], Franklin County - Long and athletic player has a very high ceiling and can stretch the floor with shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="915117" first="Ben" last="Carroll"], Greenwood - Little bit of a tweener at 6’6, but when he plays hard he shows the potential to be a college player.

[player_tooltip player_id="915131" first="Preston" last="Murrell"], John Hardin - Preston has improved a lot over his high school career and should find a home at the next level.
