Continue ReadingLennox took third place at the Class A State Tournament last year and now with two starters back they look to have an excellent 2019-20 year.
Moving On. Quincy Ihnen, Zach Leisinger, and Brock Anderson graduated after starting in the third place game at state. Ihnen scored 11.2 a game and Brock Anderson gave the team 10.7 points and grabbed 8.7 rebounds per game. They were two very important pieces that will need to be replaced while Leisinger was one of the most dependable players on both ends. Seniors Zach Foss and Camden Wulf came off the bench in limited minutes last year as well.
Returning Starters. Six-foot guard pair Josh Arlt and Will Daugherty were the top two scorers for Lennox last year and Arlt led the team in assists as well. Arlt averaged 15 points and Daugherty scored nearly a dozen points a contest. Arlt is a fantastic passer and is commonly one of the better shooters in his class. Arlt and Daugherty will make one of the toughest pairs in Class A basketball.
Reserves Playing a Bigger Role. Senior Kaleb Johnson was the Lennox sixth man a year ago and will likely step into the role as a 6-foot-2 starting forward. Johnson has shown to be a strong rebounder and a high percentage finisher. Arlt, Daugherty, and Johnson are the returning players from the 2018-19 team.
More Potentials from the JV. Six foot senior Haden Mendel should earn a bigger role offering veteran experience. Sophomore guard Jackson Arlt and junior Peyton Eich are both talented ball handlers and playmakers that should be in the rotation.
