Jaylen Boyd 6’1″ Ladue (Team Ramey CCM): The 2020 two-way point guard enjoyed a very productive day at both ends of the court. He operated quite well with the ball in his hands and off the ball as he shot the ball well from 3-point range on his open looks. His tough, yet shifty moves to the basket always kept the defense off balance and being left-handed helps with that advantage. He did a good job of moving his feet defensively and his quick hands also caused problems as well.
Mark Cann 6’5″ Raytown South (Team KC): The 2020 combo forward is a matchup problem for defenders with his versatile skills. He did a nice job of fitting his skills in with others in the showcase format with his ability to make plays with his athleticism and shoot the 3-pointer. He was excellent on the pick-and-pop as well as in the transition game where he was a good finisher. He can also make a play for himself off the dribble.
Matthew Enright 5’8″ Webster Groves (Team Ramey CCM): The little 2022 lefty was one of the youngest and smallest players in the showcase, but he showed that he belonged as he played with a lot of confidence and showed an excellent feel for the game. He handled himself well against pressure defense and had some some dimes in the flow of the offense. His strength is 3-point shooting and that was on display as well on Sunday.
Evan Guillory 6’3″ Joplin (KC Run GMC): The 2020 power guard did what does best, which was attack the basket with strength and fury. His strong body and high motor made for a lot of success as he continued to put the pressure on the defense. Contact means little to him as he can score on twisting drives in traffic or throw down a power dunk. He also kept defenders honest with a perimeter jumper. At his size, he was also able to provide an excellent presence on the boards.
Ilyaas Harris 5’10” Marquette (Team Ramey CCM): The 2021 point guard was very good at handling the ball on offense and harassing opposing ball handlers on the defensive end. He has a nice burst to get by a defender to get into the lane or he can create his own offense with his handles and escape moves. If there is an open teammates, he will locate them for a better shot. Although he’s smaller, he has gotten physically stronger, plus he does a good job of staying low on the dribble for better balance.
Animu Mohammed 6’5′ Greenwood (Boo Williams): The 2020 standout wing was one of the most, if not the most explosive players in the showcase. He would spent first few possessions of the game sitting back and getting a lay of the land, then he would strike suddenly with an explosive dunk, an offensive putback and a twisting drive all in succession. He is strong as well as athletic and he gets to the rim off the dribble easily. He is very easy to play with as he doesn’t waste a lot of motion. Has continued to pick up high-major offers throughout the spring and early summer.
Tarris Reed, Jr. 6’8″ Chaminade (MoKan Elite): A young 2022 power forward prospect who has a lot of upside. He was productive on Sunday with his meat and potatoes style of play. He is physically strong and very active around the basket with his aggressive post-ups, good footwork and nice shooting touch. He was very effective from about 15 feet when he popped out, especially on the baseline. He is also a tough rebounder on both ends of the court. He has early offers from Saint Louis University and UMKC.
Kian Scroggins 6’7″ Raymore-Peculiar (KC Run GMC): The 2020 post player was productive on Sunday with his strength and toughness around the basket. In the stretches where he didn’t get a ton of touches on offense, he was good at creating his own touches by crashing the offensive boards and getting tough putbacks. He has good mobility and is always working. He is an excellent finisher around the basket in traffic, but he has the ability to step out and knock down 3-pointers with a nice lefty stroke. He has offers so far from Division II Pittsburg State and Division I UMKC.
Tully Thomason 6’3″ Oak Grove: The 2020 wing player showcased his impressive 3-point stroke throughout the day. He did not try to do too much on offense, which served him well as he moved well without the ball and set himself up for multiple 3-point opportunities. He also did a good job of getting out on the break and knocking down transition 3s.
