2022
Joshua Talton 6’1″ Monroe City: I’ve watched this young wing play in a number of team camps in June and he’s ready to pick up the family mantle after the graduation of his standout brother CE Talton. Josh is physically strong with the body of a football player, which enables him to attack the basket and play through any kind of contact. He can also handle the ball well and knock down 3-pointers on a consistent basis. He is always on the attack, which I like.
Casen Lawrence 5’9″ Westminster: It looks like this talented young point guard is moving to Indianapolis with his family, although he played on Saturday. If he moves, this is a big loss for the Wildcats because he is a savvy, confident point guard with a pretty 3-point shot. He is a consistent 3-point shooter with smooth handles and the ability to drop dimes.
Ryan Schwendeman 6’3″ St. Dominic: A good sized wing player who plays an aggressive game. He can drive the ball well, but his strength is 3-point shooting. He plays with a lot of energy and his efforts made for a very productive weekend.
Josiah Talton 6’1″ Monroe City: The twin brother of Joshua Talton, young Josiah is also a very talented offensive player. Although not as physically big as his brother, he has a very nice skill set with the ability to get to the basket and a very good stroke from 3-point range.
2023
Desmond White 5’9″ Helias: The young shooting guard put on a pretty impressive display from 3-point range on Saturday. He made six 3-pointers in one of those Crusaders’ victories. He’s small and quick and he moves without the ball. He shoots the ball with a lot of confidence.
Steve Hall 5’8″ MICDS: Young point guard who really made a positive impact on his team at both ends of the court. He is a pass-first guard who knows how to make his teammates better with his passing and court vision. His dribble penetration was good and he showcased a nice float game. He was also good on defense with his quick hands.
Kobi Williams 5’11” Westminster: A very impressive young player who showcased some good 3-point shooting in the one game that I watched. He made four of his five 3-point attempts in one half of basketball in WCA’s first game. He has good length and athleticism to go along with his perimeter shooting.
