One of the standouts on Team Charlotte that plays on the Under Armour Association is 2020 6'3 guard, Tristan Maxwell. He is currently averaging 18.3 points per game this spring and demonstrated that he can flat out score the basketball when I evaluated him in New Jersey. He is carrying his on court success he had this past winter to the court this spring.

"My high school season went really well but it kind of ended short, I felt like we could have went a little bit farther but overall it was solid, just ended a little short.”

When I saw him play earlier this month, there was simply nobody stopping his jump shot from going in.

“Whenever I get in a rhythm, I feel like nobody can stop me especially when I start to feel it. Once I start to make a couple, it always feels good and I know I can keep it going.”

He also showed that when he is not shooting the ball, he is successful in driving to the rim.

“I always tell myself to fight hard and I feel like part of my job is always driving hard to the rim.”

It makes sense that these two parts of his game really stood out because when asked to describe his game, he said, “I would say that I am a smooth shooter, I can get it to the basket, I would definitely say I am a scorer first but I can find other people too and pass the ball real well.”

Because of his play, it has caught a good amount of high major programs attention.

"Recruitment is going really well, a lot of coaches have been hitting me up like Providence, Gonzaga, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.”

He was able to talk about a few of those schools with us.

Providence: “They have been talking to me a lot, they always are interested in how I am doing and a lot of other stuff, like how my season is going, how AAU is going, am I doing good and just all that.”

Vanderbilt: “They are real interested and the new assistant coaches have been talking to me.”

Gonzaga: “I really like Gonzaga, I like that school and I have been watching them play, I watched them in the NCAA tournament.”
