Coming out of high school Finke was a top 5 player in the class his entire career and finished as the #4 recruit in the 2018 class.
As a freshman Finke’s stat line was 3.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in 15 minutes a game. Since he entered the transfer portal Finke told us several schools have reached out!
“So far I’ve heard from Southern Illinois, Wright State, Valparaiso, Eastern Illinois, and Indiana State.”
What will he be looking for in a school?
“I’m looking for the right fit. Which for me right now consists a ton in style of play. Simplest way I can put it is ball movement and player movement. I thrive in that and I’ll be seeking that in this process.”
Finke along with Javon Freeman (Whitney Young) who is transferring from Valpo are the top two freshman transfers from Illinois in the college freshman class.
Finke brings size at 6’6” along with solid athleticism to the table. He is best where he can move without the ball to get open coming off screens for threes or mid-range jumpers. He ran with Meanstreets in the Nike EYBL his final summer on the circuit averaging 20.6 points per game.
