We covered the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Regional here at Warren Central and got to see three games on the night.
Over the course of the weekend, we are going to be diving in on the top players from the event. Tonight, our look at some of the top guys we saw.
#5 Daniel Asher – 6’8 C 2020 – Roncalli (IN) – Indiana Elite SIDE 2020
Daniel is a big forward that has grown and filled out a little more. He’s 6’8-200 or so and really looks the part of a small school post prospect. He’s fairly mobile and loves to play faced up in the mid-range but did show an ability to score on the low block at times. He has nice touch in that area of the floor and could probably go to it more often. He’s not yet a guy that can stretch the floor but is good as a passer and facilitator out of the high-post. Can play a bit in transition.
#4 Will Lasater – 6’8 PF 2020 – West Lafayette (IN)
Will is a long, lean forward that is a solid shooter in the mid-range and beyond. He lacks touch around the rim and will need to execute there a little better for his development. When actually looking to shoot, he has great touch and can even pull-up off the dribble at times. He’s really mobile and will get up and down the floor. His ability to stretch is key here and will draw in quite a few more schools. Want to see a little more aggressiveness on defense moving forward.
#50 Isaac Farnsworth – 6’3 SF 2020 – Fort Wayne Snider (IN) – IE Summit City 2020
Isaac is a big wing who is a little undersized but produces at a high level. He’s a great rebounder who can really effect things on both ends. He’s got a capable jumper but by the end of the summer we want to see it worked in a lot more in his game. He’s so tough and physical that coaches should flock to that. Handles it well enough from the wing but again, it might be adding in more of a jumper to define his offensive game more.
Landen Jordan – 6’7 PF 2021 – Fort Wayne Concordia (IN) – IE Summit City 2020
Landen is a long, lean forward with a ton of mobility and a lot of upside. He was short at a lot of his finishes in this game. His touch just wasn’t as crisp as you would want. However, he was getting to all of the places he wanted to with the ball in his hands. He’s going to learn to turn those free throws into and-ones and his production will obviously jump because of it. Runs so well up the floor and can makes plays in transition. Once his frame adds on more strength, he’s going to be a load to stop.
#1 Ben Weidner – 6’2 SG 2020 – Zionsville (IN)
Ben is a big guard who is kind of a combo right now but plays very tough and has the body to handle it. He’s a guy that can shoot a little bit and found his footing in that regard in this game. Able to hit well of the catch, he showed a little more willingness to make plays off the bounce. He’s a guy that might need to produce a little more to warrant playing off the ball but handles it well enough that at the right level he can play on the ball.
