Continue ReadingThe first live period of the year has come and gone and now we are looking back through out notes to see how stood out among the rest. Today, we are looking into our 2021 prospects. Here is the list:
Kameron Graddy – 6’5 PF 2021 – Shenandoah (IN) – GPP 2021 White
Graddy is a big forward with tons of strength and a developing game. He’s a solid rebounder at times, needs to be a little more assertive on the low block but has some room there to grow. Moves well and could establish an ability to play faced up with time. The body is great and ready to go already for college. A lot of little bits of skill here but he has yet to define his game completely. Will be one to track.
Landin Hacker – 5’11 PG 2021 – Center Grove (IN) – Hayward Hoops 2021
Landin is a shorter guard but built with strength and toughness. He’s got some good speed with the ball but built more for possession and adding shooting on offense. He was solid with his control of the team, showing off some passing and vision. All together, he is probably going to be set up well as an-on ball guard that will have a nice balance on offense.
Jacob Moynihan – 6’6 PF 2021 – Seton Catholic (IN) – Hayward Hoops 2021
Jacob is a growing forward who looks bigger and quite a bit stronger now. He’s a good rebounder that can go outside of his area to track it down. He can also really stretch the floor well as he’s an above average shooter for his position. Will want to see how well he does adjusting to defense on the perimeter because the bigger he gets, he’s not as quick as he was a year ago. But, as a stretch forward, he has a lot of tools on offense that are going to continue to standout.
Brady Hunt – 6’5 PF 2021 – Delta (IN) – Hayward Hoops 2021
Brady is an emerging forward that will end up being very coveted at whatever level he goes. He’s so good right now because he’s very assertive. He doesn’t take plays off and will hustle to track down rebounds. He’s likely one of the best rebounders this state has in the class. He also really showed off that touch from the perimeter. He and Moynihan are pretty similar but Hunt might be a little more suited to stretch and play on the wing right now but isn’t as big.
Ayden Brobston – 6’6 PF 2021 – Frankton (IN) – Hayward Hoops 2021
Ayden is a thin forward who has a ton of length and while raw right now, you can see why he could end up being pretty good down the road. He’s very mobile and gets around on the floor like a wing. Right now, he lacks strength and that seems to be something he is going to need to help his development. However, he’s a willing forward that will play in the paint and showed some touch on his jumper. Time and strength are what he needs but could be interesting to watch in a year.
Riley Duncan – 6’10 C 2021 – Cowan (IN) – Hayward Hoops 2021
Riley is a massive post prospect who will be a target of college programs. He has legit height and while big, isn’t so big that it slows him down. He moves really well for his size, seems to have a decent motor and can play at the rim. Needs to use his body more and let it impact around the rim. He is good at sealing his man in the post, needs to work on his positioning but gives you the energy that you can work with and mold.
Ethan Williams – 6’4 PF 2021 – Indian Creek (IN) – Indiana Elite Force 2021
Ethan is long, lanky forward with touch on his jumper. He’s more of a stretch or wing as he’s just much more comfortable there now and isn’t so big to force him in the post a ton. He’s best as a catch-and-shoot wing where he’s shown he can knock off quite a few in a game. He does need strength to help him develop and take things to another level.
Styles McCorkle – 6’5 PF 2021 – Greenwood Christian (IN) – Indiana Elite Force 2021
Styles is a strong wing forward that can makes plays. He’s starting to do more with the ball in his hands. Mostly, he likes to be a perimeter shooter but he’s shown some signs of taking some drives at the rim. Not yet at a place where he is consistently going to get to the rim but can pull-up in the mid-range and mix in a floater. Will need some more offensive tools and he looks like he is heading that way.
Quinn Harmon – 6’2 PG 2021 – Homestead (IN) – Indiana Elite Northeast 2021
Quinn is a growing guard who has shown that he is likely going to stay on the ball long term. He’s got quite a bit more size and the body is filling out now. Thought he was good getting things going for the offense but not sure he will be a break-you-down guard. More of a facilitator that will shoot the ball at a high level. He did that in the game we watched as well as passing the ball well. He is looking to make more plays but just an early stage of that development for him.
Kyle Sanders – 6’1 SG 2021 – Western (IN) – Indiana Elite Northeast (IN)
Kyle is a smaller wing with good handles and a capable jumper. He’s got a long release on his jumper but it seems to work for him. He does a lot of things that work for a wing like his rebounding or defending but lacks ideal size right now. Would like to see his ball handling and creation work more to use him more as a guard that can score at a higher level. Tools are there, though.
Payton Sparks – 6’6 C 2021 – Winchester (IN) – Indiana Elite All-In 2020
Payton is a big, bruising post player who is still very raw but has some skill that will play now. He’s going to have to reshape the body over the next few years but he has size and strength and kind of knows how to use it. Showed some aggressiveness on the boards at times, needs to do more of that. However, he’s a pretty effective low post scorer and offensive rebounder. Loved his hands and was pretty secure with it. The upside is obvious, just will take some time but could be one to pay attention to.
Landen Jordan – 6’7 PF 2021 – Fort Wayne Concordia (IN) – IE Summit City 2020
Landen is a long, lean forward with a ton of mobility and a lot of upside. He was short at a lot of his finishes in this game. His touch just wasn’t as crisp as you would want. However, he was getting to all of the places he wanted to with the ball in his hands. He’s going to learn to turn those free throws into and-ones and his production will obviously jump because of it. Runs so well up the floor and can makes plays in transition. Once his frame adds on more strength, he’s going to be a load to stop.
