OLATHE, Kan. — The Jayhawk Invitational continued on Saturday with a host of talented players stepping up and making a name for themselves in pool play.
Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who raised their profile with strong performances.
10 — Cade Blevins, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Rogersville, Missouri Flight
After helping Logan-Rogersville put together a big season in 2018-19, Blevins has hit the ground running this spring with the Missouri Flight and put together several big performances this weekend in Olathe, Kan. He has a smooth outside shooting stroke and is a terrific leaper, capable of surprising opponents with alley-oop slams, blocked shots or rebounds in traffic. He is at his best as an off-ball slasher and shooter.
10 — Sylvon Mosely-Mull, 6’4, F/G, 2020, McCluer North
Was everywhere in the games we watched on Saturday. Mosely-Mill was in the passing lanes defensively, on the glass at both ends of the floor and did a terrific job moving away from the ball and scoring easy baskets on back cuts. He is a well-rounded player with a versatile skill set and is capable of defending multiple positions.
5 — Collin Parker, 6’6, G/F, 2021, Montgomery County, Missouri Elite
Parker played up an age group this weekend with Missouri Elite and showcased a nice inside-out game. At 6’6, he has good size for a perimeter player as he can stand on the 3-point line and knock in open shots. He can handle it a little and has a good feel for the game, showing a high basketball IQ.
7 — Tulley Thomsem, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Oak Grove, KC Team YOBO
Thomsen was among the biggest risers we saw throughout the weekend as he shows a strong, physical frame and good size, the ability to handle the ball and is a knock down shooter with a high arcing shot. He is capable of guarding multiple positions as he shows good strength and quickness on the and likes to mix it up in the paint.
