Thoughts: When looking into wing shooters in the 2020 class, there is a ton of depth here. You have two elite players at the top with Anthony Leal and D’Andre Davis who are not only the two best talents in this class but also the two best shooters. D’Andre’s shot making ability in the mid-range and beyond is great. Leal is just a knock-down shooter who can put up a ton of shots quickly.
Looking down the list, guys like Rowen Farrell, Braxton Barnhizer, Charlie Yoder, and Murray Becher are probably the best in the next tier. Rowen and Yoder are so good at creating opportunities for themselves while Barnhizer and Becher are so clutch off the catch. If you can put them settled in their feet, they will really knock down pretty much everything.
Some hidden gems in this group, names like Jake Johnson, Brandon Stroble, and Jakobie McGowan stand out. Jake has the best upside of the group but Stroble is a name that could be a name that shines over the next year as a 6’4 wing that has creation along the perimeter. McGowan was a guy that really helped Brownsburg win some games and he’s got one dominant skill, catch-and-shooting.
The depth here is helpful and there are a lot more options for DI and DII programs at this stage. If you are a school at any level needing shooting, you are more than likely going to get it from a wing player.
