<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The UIL 2A Championship Game took place between Shelbyville Dragons (38-3) vs Gruver Greyhounds (18-4). Both teams have played tremendously to get to this game. Only one team can walk away as the State Champs. Let's take a look at the synopsis and upshot of the game.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />

</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Dragons controlled the game from the jump and never looked back. Shelbyville guard play was a little too much. The Dragons dynamic duo of Buckley and Boykins outscored the Greyhounds going into the half 31-19. The second half of the game Gruver played solid basketball. Shelbyville was just as effective in the second half as they were in the first half. They were able to hold the lead and come out as the victors. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Has a quick first step. He was able to get in the paint and kick to the open man. Took his man off the dribble. Displayed his mid-range game. Was feisty on the defensive side of the ball. Finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Shot 11/22-FG, 1/1-3FG, and 5/12-FT. He was named UIL 2A MVP.<br />

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Has a solid frame for his size. He is a catch a shot player from behind the arc. He was able to do some work in the low post also. Decent footwork and dribble package. Finished the game with 19 points and 3 rebounds. Shot 6/11-FG, 5/7-3FG, and 2/3-FT.<br />

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Played solid down low. Plays aggressive and gets after it. He was altering shots and cleaning the glass. Has quick hands and deflected numerous passes. Finished the game with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 steals. He shot 4/8-FG, 0/1-3FG, and 3/5-FT.<br />

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Is a physical specimen. He currently holds a football offer from Texas Tech for the TE position. He runs the court well. Has a strong handle on the ball. He was able to get to the lane and finish. He plays with a great motor on both sides of the ball. Finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in the game. Shot 6/10-FG and 9/12-FT.<br />

<p>Played really solid in the first half of the game. Went on a scoring rant of 8 points to close out the second quarter. In the second half, he played solid defensively. Altered a number of shots and played the passing lanes well, tipping balls out of bounds. Finished with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assist. Shot 4/8-FG and 2/4-3FG.</p>
