Division 4: Manning and Hankamp Predict the Quarterfinals

Boys basketball has advanced to the quarterfinal round of play, and with just eight teams remaining, everyone has eyes on a state championship. Prep Hoops writers Zachary Manning and Scott Hankamp will give you key players to watch and predictions for each game. Dollar Bay vs. Pellston <h2>Zachary Manning</h2> Dollar Bay key player- Ashton Janke (2020, F): Janke is a great scorer who can go off on any given night. He has what it takes to play at the next level. Pellston key player- Blake Cassidy (2020, G): Cassidy is a big time scorer who knows how to get his shot off. He will play a big role in this game. Prediction: Pellston <h2>Scott Hankamp</h2> Dollar Bay key player- Brandon LeClaire (2019, G): LeClaire is a leader on the floor and in the lockerroom. He's a defensive stopper for Dollar Bay. Pellston key player- Tanner Byard (2019, G): Byard is a spark plug on offense. He's a lights out shooter that can change the course of a game just by getting hot. Prediction: Pellston Southfield Christian vs. Genesee Christian <h2>Zachary Manning</h2> Southfield Christian key player- Jon Sanders (2019, G): Sanders is an excellent scorer with big time bounce. He can score from anywhere on the floor and has great instincts. Genesee Christian key player- Luke Epperson (2019, G): Epperson is a nice player who can score when he needs to and hustles on every play. Prediction: Southfield Christian <h2>Scott Hankamp</h2> Southfield Christian key player- Daijon Humphrey (2020, G): Humphrey is considered a top 20 prospect in the class of 2020. He's an elite perimeter defender. Genesee Christian key player- The entire lineup: Genesee Christian plays true team basketball and relies on each player successfully filling their role. Prediction: Southfield Christian Frankfort vs. Big Rapids Crossroads <h2>Zachary Manning</h2> Frankfort key player- Will Newbold (2019, G): Newbold is a nice outside shooter who is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He's also a solid defender. Big Rapids Crossroads key player- Britton Angell (2019, G): This kid can really score the basketball, and he has a variety of moves to help him get open looks. Prediction: Big Rapids Crossroads <h2>Scott Hankamp</h2> Frankfort key player- Jack Stefanski (2021, G): Stefanski is scorer at heart and depended on in that capacity. He's proven to be a clutch shooter. Big Rapids Crossroads key player- Isaac Slomp (2020, C): Slomp was homeschooled prior to this season, but he has fit in with the team perfectly. Slomp provides a post presence. Prediction: Big Rapids Crossroads Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian vs. Bellevue <h2>Zachary Manning</h2> Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian key player- Bennett Sinner (2019, G): He's very good at driving to the basket, and I love the way he rebounds the basketball. Bellevue key player- Gino Costello (2019, G): Costello is a good scorer who makes things happen for his team. He plays solid defense as well. Prediction: Bellevue <h2>Scott Hankamp</h2> Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian key player- Brady Titus (2022, PG): Titus continues to prove that he is one of the top freshmen in Michigan. He plays downhill, attacking the rim and pressuring the ball. Bellevue key player- Carson Betz (2020, F): Betz is an athletic multi sport star. He's counted on as a leader for the Bellevue squad.
