The 2A boys division looks a bit different due to the fact that a 4A division was added so some of the 2A programs moved up to 3A. However there are some familiar names and teams which should lead to some pretty competitive games.

#3 Freedom Christian vs Wayne Country Day

Wayne Country Day is a team that would be called a ‘‘Cinderella’’ team as they have upset two higher ranked teams already. Freedom Christian was a team that some felt was seeded too high due to their record but it must be noted that they played a very tough schedule in one of the tougher leagues in the state.

Players to watch: Freedom has a nice group of Seniors that have played well lately Guard Thomas Miles and Brandon Murray are both players that can help be game changers in different ways alongside big man Dusan Dordevic. Freedom has Juniors that are legit college prospects in Guard Ambaka Le Gregam and Forward Aymeric Toussaint.

Players to watch: Wayne Country Day gets the job done by committee as well, with multiple players that are averaging double figures. Sophomore Guard Jaden Cooper is at 15 PPG, Junior Linwood Grandy has a scoring average of 16 a night, and Senior Marcus Metcalf is at 14 PPG so as you can see there is quite a few players that can step up and make plays for WCD.

#1 Fayetteville Academy vs # 4 Northside Christian

Fayetteville Academy has been a dominant force this season, they have a record of 25-3 and have been playing with a confidence that you have to love. Northside Christian is a battled tested group, they have played in some good national level events this season and have seen all types of competition throughout.

Players to watch: Fayetteville Academy Senior Guard John Michael Wright is one of the best PG's in the state. He can score the ball at a very high level, defends and just simply has a strong desire to win. Senior F/C Emmanuel Izunabor is a shot blocking and rebounding machine that they will look to be dominant in the paint. Senior Forward William Oyeondi is a player that they will need to have good performances in the next two rounds, he's about 6'4 with good strength and is a solid rebounder.

Players to watch: NCA features 6'8 Junior Forward Jayden Seymour who is a special player, he's pretty much a 20 and 10 type guy with good size and skillset. Senior Guard Cortez Marion-Holmes is another player that can go for 20+ at any given moment as he is a quick and athletic type of player with good size. Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino is another name to know from this group, he's advanced well beyond his years and is recently coming off an 19 points/10 rebound game in the last round.
