Upsets:
- Bishop Dwenger knocked off Fort Wayne Snider last night. In a way, not really an upset but based on success this season you can call it that. Snider, a very young team still, struggled with Dwenger’s defense and could never really score the ball the way they needed. Bishop Dwenger will know take on East Noble on Friday.
- Hamilton beat Lakewood Park in overtime on Wednesday night, 72-69. They have only won 5 games all season including this one. Their prize, getting to face Blackhawk Christian on Friday night in the Sectional Semifinals.
- Gary Roosevelt beat Whiting in a very rough ending, 66-63. There were a ton of fouls and technicals at the end and even though Whiting got a chance to win late, they couldn’t do enough. This is Gary Roosevelt’s 4th win of the season. They now will take on Bowman Academy on Friday.
Notable Results:
- Valparaiso looked like they were coming out ready to go as they dominated Merrillville all game long. This was much further apart than the 49-31 score. Valparaiso will now take on Kankakee Valley on Friday in the Sectional Semifinals.
- Corydon Central beat North Harrison, 70-56. They have been very up and down this year but this was a great performance and had their top guys playing well. They will now take on Salem on Friday.
- Both Paoli and Providence had very close game, both teams winning by 2 points as they took down Henryville and Clarksville, respectively. They will face each other on Friday.
- Forest Park beat Perry Central after being down late in this game. They needed a comeback to be able to advance. Their path doesn’t get easier as Evansville Mater Dei looks locked in as they will play each other on Friday.
- Gary 21st struggled a bit at the beginning of the game against Morgan Twp. but pulled it out in the second half, 45-39. Their Sectional is pretty difficult so a slip up could cost them. They will play Washington Twp. on Friday.
