This spring and summer, the guys will form a 15U unit, made up of current Cedar Rapids Jefferson freshman, and will compete on the Prep Hoops Circuit.
Program director Brian Bleitz has been at the helm of the group since the beginning, and has enjoyed watching his guys flourish as high school hoopers.
“Our players’ hard work has been paying off. As a freshman, Brayden Kindhart has been getting minutes at the varsity level. Carson Blietz, Dkhai Pope, Kaden Haller, Caden Schroeder, Gunner Myers and Travon Miller have been playing at the sophomore level,” said Bleitz. “We also have three newcomers we’re excited about, Andreas Williams, Kay’zure Lewis and Lonny Melvin.”
The J-Hawk Attack goals are to get their guys on the map, and to set them up with opportunities to be successful, on and off the court.
“Our mission this year is to provide our players with opportunities to compete at a high level and gain more exposure,” said Bleitz. “We want to develop our players to their fullest potential individually and as a team, while teaching life lessons that will lead to success on and off the court.”
Bleitz added: “We want to develop each player to be successful at the high school varsity level and beyond. We want to provide them with opportunities, learning experiences and lifelong lessons that will provide success in the classroom and throughout their lives.”
Ahead of their sophomore seasons at Jefferson, the guys will be competing against some of the Midwest’s best competition as apart of the Hard Work Region.
“We chose Prep Hoops Circuit because it was exactly what we were looking for. It’s one of the nation’s most trusted resources for college basketball recruiting and America’s #1 independent circuit,” said Bleitz. “It will provide opportunities for our team to compete at a high level and help us grow individually and as a team. It will also provide great exposure for us.”
