Recruiting Report: Gerald Drumgoole (2019)
La Lumiere School 2019 guard Gerald Drumgoole will take an official visit to Minnesota starting late this evening. Prep Hoops caught up with Drumgoole for a short conversation as he takes his second recent visit (saw South Carolina recently).
“I’m arriving at Minnesota tonight for my official visit,” Gerald told GI. “Unfortunately I’m no going to make it in time for the game.”
Minnesota plays an exhibition game with Minnesota-Duluth this evening and at some point right after the game or near the end of the game an assistant will pick Gerald up at the airport.
“I have been hearing often from Head Coach Richard Pitino and assistant Ed Conroy,” Gerald explained. “I have been able to build a relationship with both coaches.”
Several high major programs watched Drumgoole play this summer with Albany City Rocks when Gerald scored 7.2 points per game in EYBL play shooting 44 percent from the floor, 39 percent from the 3pt line, and 78 percent at the foul line. 4.2 rebounds a game as well.
Drumgoole averaged 19.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists in his final high school season playing in Rochester, New York as a junior. He is now at La Lumiere School in La Porte.
DePaul, Maryland, UMass, and Georgia offered Gerald this summer with others like South Carolina and Minnesota following this fall.
“I’m also hearing often from Oklahoma, South Carolina, Creighton, and Seton Hall,” Gerald stated. “It’s still undecided if I will make a decision this fall or spring.”
