Player Profile: Bryce Auck (2019)
Bismarck Century figures to contend for another state title this upcoming season. If the Patriots are going to replicate the success they’ve enjoyed in previous seasons, guys like Bryce Auck will have to step up.
Auck, a 6-foot-1 shooting guard, heads into his senior year at Bismarck Century hoping to make a big impact for a team used to winning a lot and at the highest level.
“I am very excited to get started with the season,” Auck said. “I am ready to step up and show what I can do on the court because I think I’ve improved a lot.”
Auck hasn’t had a lot of opportunity to showcase his skills at the varsity level because Century’s had such talented players in front of him in previous years. That doesn’t mean he isn’t talented though and he showed what he can do during the summer playing with ECI Selects.
Auck’s a solid perimeter shooter and showed he’s got legitimate scoring chops playing with ECI. He said he felt like he improved his ball handling and facilitating greatly throughout the summer as well.
Auck is hoping a strong senior year can attract potential suitors at the college level.
Treyton Mattern is one of the best players in the state and he’ll draw a lot of attention from opposing teams but for the Patriots to win at the level they are accustomed to winning at, guys like Auck, Mason Peterson and Blake Stuart will all have to be good too.
“We just have to keep a good mindset throughout the season and play our game,” said Auck. “My goal this season is to win state again. No matter what my role is on the team, that’s the goal.”
