Recruiting Report: Jared Jaros (2019)
2019 guard Jared Jaros has really made a name for himself over the past year. After a solid junior season for the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots, he had a nice summer of basketball playing for BBA. Jaros has big aspirations for this upcoming season and also has his sights on potential colleges.
“Hopefully this year we can have a big season,” said Jaros. “We will be looking to get back to State this year and see how far we can go.”
One of the main focuses for Jaros is stepping up and being a leader as a senior. Having played both guard positions last year, he gained the necessary experience needed for this year. Whether he needs to at PG or play the two-guard, Jaros will be ready. He will be looked upon to help lead the Patriots on both sides of the ball this season. Individually, Jaros’ only goal is to establish himself in the best role needed for him to help his teammates out as much as possible.
A solid upcoming season would be a excellent follow up to the summer season he had. Jaros played in a bunch of different tournaments with BBA and he said that he had a great experience.
“This last summer we got a lot of exposure and gained a feel for how other teams around the country play. I was able to use my experience and pick up some things to work on and use this year.”
That exposure Jaros talked about has led to some interest from colleges around the area. NAIA, D3 and Junior Colleges have all been in contact with Jaros over the past year. Dakota Weselyan, Dakota State, Bethany, and Minnesota West are a few of the schools he mentioned. Jaros plans to take a look at a few of these schools this fall by going on some campus visits.
Make sure you keep an eye on this kid. He has a chance to make an big impact on the Class AA landscape this winter.
