Ramey Fall League Playoffs (Team Scout/Michigan State)
Prep Hoops Missouri was in attendance at the final day of the Rameybasketball Fall League on Sunday at Cardinal Ritter College Prep. Here is a look at playoff semifinalist Michigan State.
Courtland Sol 6’2″ Michigan State (’19) – An aggressive combo guard who scored a team-high 20 points in the semifinals against K-State. He was tough on the downhill drive where he was able to get to the free throw line. He also finished well and had his share of three-point plays. He is a good ball handler who can change speed and directions and knock down pull up jumpers on the move.
Tyon Hughes 6’5″ Soldan (’19) – An athletic power forward who is very effective around the basket with his high motor and ability to rebound at both ends. He had several nice put-backs because of his tenacity on the boards.
Marlon Owens 5’9″ McCluer North (’21) – A talented young point guard with good quickness and the ability to get to the rim and finish over the top of bigger defenders with a nice touch. He is very good in the open court and he also has a very effective pull up jumper. He also displayed good court vision and dropped some nice dimes.
Jaylen Watts 6’0″ Riverview Gardens (’20) – A solid combo guard who has the ability to penetrate and get into the lane and finish. He also knocked down a nice pull up 3-pointer in transition. He is strong with the ball.
Damon Hampton 6’6″ Riverview Gardens (’19) – A long slender forward who did a good job of attacking the offensive boards. He also has a nice touch around the basket and knocked down a corner 3-pointer. Very active.
