As we gear up for a big July in prep basketball, it’s important to recognize the players that had a great spring. This is our second look at athletes who have had a standout spring AAU season. Check out Part 1 as well:  Super Spring: Part 1

Isaiah Jackson Isaiah Jackson 6'9" | PF Waterford Mott | 2020 State #27 Nation MI

2020, F, The Family, Old Redford

Jackson has become one of the best shotblockers in the country. He’s an elite basketball player nationally with a nearly unmatched combination of skills and athleticism.

Justin Rukat

2019, 6’7”, F, Michigan Playmakers, Detroit Catholic Central

Rukat has shown soft hands around the basket and a nice looking jumper.

Darrell Belcher

2019, G, 6’3”, UTS Elite 17u, Grand Rapids Catholic Central

Belcher is a crafty left hander. He hunts shots and gets buckets.

Jamoni Jones Jamoni Jones 6'1" | PG East Kentwood | 2020 State MI

2020, G, Greenwood Elite 16u, East Kentwood

Jones has been attacking the rim and finishing, all while being a consistent shooter from three point range.

Julian Walker

2019, 6’3”, G, Motor City Bad Boys, Detroit Henry Ford

Walker is a versatile athlete who can play the 1-3 spots. He’s a solid defender who can match up with almost any position.

Myron Gardner 

2019, F, The Family, Detroit Loyola

Gardner’s stock continues to rise as he shows his athleticism and versatility.

Jeremy Luciani

2019, 6’7”, F, Lansing Prospectors, Marshall

Luciani is an extremely talented post player with a vast skill set. He has a nice offensive repertoire.

Jack Luciani

2019, 6’7”, F, Lansing Prospectors, Marshall

Luciani has proven to be a weapon defensively. He protects the rim and rebounds.

Brendan Young Brendan Young 6'4" | CG Fowlerville | 2021 State MI

2021, 6’4”, G Lansing Prospectors, DeWitt High School

Young is in the process of moving from the post to the perimeter. He averaged a doube-double with points and rebounds this spring.

Donovan Freeman 

2019, G, M2K Elite, River Rouge

Freeman has been a leader and a bucket getter all spring.

Mathew Osterhout

2019, 6’3”, Wing, Maconb Cougars 17u, De La Salle

Osterhout is a solid shooter who can also take his opponent off the dribble.

Ryan Downey 

2019, 5’10”, PG, Macomb Cougars 17u, Grosse Pointe South

Downey is a pass first point guard. He can get to the basket off the dribble.

Dan Few

2019, 6’6”, F, M2K Elite, River Rouge

Few is an elite defender. He contributes to a team in so many ways - rebounding, defense, and blocking shots for example.

Zach Maynard Zach Maynard 6'4" | SG Brother Rice | 2020 State MI

2020, G, Flints Finest, Rochester Adams

Maynard is the type of player that is willing and able to do whatever it takes for his team to win. He’s a good shooter who can get hot from deep.

Lorenzo Wright Lorenzo Wright 5'10" | PG Belleville | 2020 State MI

2020, PG, Xmen, Belleville

Wright is a physically strong and quick athlete. He’s an excellent floor leader who keeps his teammates engaged.

Freddie McIntosh Freddie McIntosh 5'10" | PG Saginaw | 2020 State MI

2020, PG, The Program 16u, Saginaw High School

McIntosh is a shifty player with good hip movement. He’s an elite ball handler.

John Gaines John Gaines 6'1" | PG Walled Lake Central | 2021 State MI

2021, 6’0”, PG, REACH 15u, Walled Lake Central

Gaines has been at his best when attacking the basket. He draws defenders then kicks to open teammates.

Trevor Boers

6’9”, Post, Greg Grant 17u

Boers is a solid post player with three point range. This spring he averaged 10.4 ppg, 10.1 rog, and 4 bpg. Boers shot 53% from three point range.

Gabe Lessnau 

2020, 6’2”, Downriver Bad Boyz

Lessnau is an underrated shooter who had an excellent spring.

Xaviel FIelds

2020, G, Downriver Bad Boyz

Fields is an athlete and a strong finisher at the rim.

Julian Lewis Julian Lewis 6'5" | SG Ann Arbor Huron | 2021 State MI  

2021, G, REACH 15u, Ann Arbor Huron

Lewis is a strong shooter. He’s an excellent passer who uses his size to see over the defense.

TJ Barnes TJ Barnes 5'9" | PG Grandville | 2021 State MI  

2021, PG, UTS Elite 15u, Grandville

Barnes is proving to be a great floor leader who has excellent ball handling skills.
