2019 Stock Risers: Guards
The spring session of AAU is over for most and with Memorial Day Weekend wrapping up, we are set to take a look back at those that have improved their stock. Today, we have our look at the top 2019 guards who improved their stock.
Brandon Newman – 6’4 / SG / 2019 / Valparaiso (IN) / Meanstreets 2019
Newman has transferred to the EYBL this season and has done really well. He’s looked comfortable making plays and the jumper has continued as hot as ever for him. Just playing successfully in the league has quieted a lot of questions over him.
Cameron Alford – 6’0 / PG / 2019 / Brownsburg (IN) / Team Teague 2019
Alford looks as good as ever this Spring. He’s shooting the ball very well and playing really consistent. He’s a guy that just looks more balanced from a scoring aspect and has been able to take over games. Starting to get to that next level.
Colin Kenney – 6’1 / PG / 2019 / Marquette Catholic (IN) / SYF 2019
Colin has done nothing but play well this Spring. He’s shooting the ball at a high level and looks as polished as he ever has. Will need a little more visibility because he has the game to be able to be a high-end scoring guard in college.
Drew Lutz – 6’0 / PG / 2019 / Penn (IN) / MBA Select 2019
Lutz looks so, so good this Spring. He’s so active and attack oriented but at the same time, doesn’t look rushed or overwhelmed handling the majority of the scoring duties. When the jumper is on, he’s going to attract a number of higher level schools than before.
Wendell DeMyers – 6’4 / SG / 2019 / Traders Point (IN) / IE Fastbreak 2019
Wendell has done nothing but prove he is a guy you want to recruit. He’s really quick with his driving ability and so creative. Passing and scoring have both taken steps forward. For 6’4, he’s one of the more dynamic on-ball guards you are going to find.
