Grassroots Recap: First Evaulation Weekend
Here is a look at what many of the Missouri-based grassroots programs performed during the first weekend of the April Evaluation period:
*Brad Beal Elite: The 17U finished the first session of the Nike EYBL in Dallas, TX with a 3-1 record. 2019 guard Mario McKinney averaged 11.5 points and shot 42 percent from 3-point range. He picked up a new offer from Florida. 2020 guard Moses Moody from Arkansas averaged 15 points to lead the team… The Brad Beal Elite 16U team finished 3-1 over the weekend. 2020 guard CamRon Fletcher picked up offers from Creighton and Missouri while 6’6″ wing Luke Kasubke received an offer from Saint Louis U.
*MoKan Elite: The 17U went 3-1 during the first session of the Nike EYBL in Dallas, TX. 6’6″ wing Isiaih Mosley averaged 12.5 points and shot an impressive 62 percent from 3-point range. Guard Deandre Sorrells averaged seven points and shot 44 percent from 3-point range. The 16U team finished the weekend in Dallas with a 3-1 record.
*KC Run GMC: The 17U team finished 0-4 during the first session of the Under Armour Association league in Dallas. All four of those losses came by a combined total of 13 points. The 16U team finished the weekend with a 1-3 record.
*Gateway: The 16U team finished with a perfect 5-0 record at the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Division in Dallas, TX. The 15U team also made it to the championship game in its division.
*Arsenal Hoops: The 17U team finished with a 2-2 record at the Midwest Live Tournament in Omaha, NE. The 16U team finished with a 3-1 record in Omaha. The 16U Red finished with a 4-0 record at the Midwest Throwdown in St. Louis.
*The St. Louis Majestics 17U won the championship at the Nike Spring Showdown in Chicago. It was the second championship won by the Majestics this spring.
*The NdaGym 16U Black Team was 3-1 and advanced to the Final Four at the Midwest Live in Omaha, NE. The 17U team also finished in the top five at the Midwest Live in Omaha.
*The Kansas City Spurs 17U Black were the Red Division champions at the Midwest Live Tournament in Omaha, NE.
*The Missouri Flight 16U were the Red Division champions at the Midwest Live Tournament in Omaha, NE.
*SEMO Bulls: The 16U team finished 3-1 and advanced to the Final Four in the Gold bracket at the Dru Joyce Classic in Nashville, TN.
*T.E.M. Select: The 17U and 16U teams both won championships at the St. Louis Spring Showcase at Pattonville High in St. Louis. The 15U team finished in third place.
*Victory Basketball 15U team finished with a 3-1 record at the Prep Hoops Southern Brawl in Oklahoma City. The 16U team also finished with a 3-1 record in OKC.
*The St. Louis Blazers 15U finished with a perfect 5-0 record at the Above the Rim Peach State Classic in Atlanta. The Blazers got good performances from 2021’s Demarcus Sanford, Donnel Boyd and Barcus Jackson, Jr.
