Spring Preview: 2019 Big Sleepers
The spring is now just about here and we are spending time over the next month preparing and previewing all you need to know about the 2019 class as AAU gets ready to get going. We will breakdown many areas with not only position breakdowns but the best of the best. Today, we are looking at those top sleepers in the 2019 class.
Prospect | HT | POS | High School |
Sammy Robbins | 6’5 | PF | Linton-Stockton |
Cameron Koshnic | 6’6 | PF | Penn |
Spencer Sroufe | 6’7 | PF | Whitko |
Braeden Beard | 6’7 | C | Tell City |
Alan Cox | 6’7 | PF | Franklin Central |
The amount of bigs in this class is extremely high and there are just a ton of options. With regards to sleepers, I think this could be the most valuable spot in the class and these five are all impact guys colleges should know about.
Sammy Robbins was and is to most, a virtually unknown name but his play for Linton-Stockton was impressive and he fits the mold of a small school big perfectly. Aggressive with scoring ability and tough as they come.
Cameron Koschnic is the other 2019 post player for Penn but he’s a guy that has his own game. He’s lanky but built well and full of mobility. He can play away from the basket with a solid face up game. He’s a guy that can play either post spot at the next level.
Spencer Sroufe is one of the more interesting players to watch this summer. He’s a wiry thin forward who can stretch the floor and has a lot of versatility. Where he separates is his ability to play now but the upside is still to come.
Braeden Beard is a southern Indiana post who likely hasn’t gotten a ton of attention yet because of that. He’s a really good post player who can score well on the low block. Won’t stretch the floor a ton but his scoring ability is good enough to covet.
Alan Cox is a guy who is still developing but his perimeter shooting is really, really good and he’s got a big frame to throw around. He actually will need more development as a post scorer than a perimeter scorer.
