Winning is what Bartholomew Ogbu knows and cares about
Bartholomew Ogbu made a lot people in the Shiloh Christian community proud this year when he earned and accepted a scholarship to NDSU. Right now though, Ogbu wants his basketball team to earn wins.
The schedule that Shiloh Christian set up is no joke. When you look around at the early Class B season no other team has put games together against the likes of Trinity and Bishop Ryan to kick off the year.
Challenging your team by challenging the best! Great motto and this team is ready for it.
“We are a good team,” Ogbu said. “We had a rough start because of missing some key players due to injuries but a lot of younger guys have stepped up big time, however once we have everyone healthy again, which will be after the holiday we will be really tough to beat!”
As good as Shiloh Christian is, they are young. Only Ogbu and Jonas Mitzel are seniors on this team.
“One thing we don’t have this year is depth, we only have two seniors in the team, so the younger guys have to step up big time going forward,” Ogbu said.
“Our goals as a team is to win the Holiday tournament, win the district and regional championship and have a chance to compete in the state tournament.”
Ogbu is a 6-foot-5 forward that his college decision behind him, what he cares about is wins. The Skyhawks won a dozen football games and now they want to be a 20 = win basketball team.
“As player, my goal for this winter is to lead my team to as many wins as possible and help build the younger guys confident and being a positive influence in the team,” Ogbu said.
Outside of his school Ogbu is keeping an eye on the NDSU football team that he will join in the future. The Bison are going for another title this weekend.
“The Bison football program has been so successful for a long time, they have a great winning culture, and every year people expect them to play and win the National championship.
“They dominated their opponents throughout the whole season and I am excited to watch them win their 6th National championship and I can’t wait for my future with the Bison!”
