Top Performers: Beech Christmas Tournament (Friday night)
The Beech Christmas Tournament wrapped up Friday night at Beech High School. The hosts missed the finals after Rossview buzzer-beater Thursday.
The final two games pitted Beech vs. Station Camp (Third Place Game) and East Nashville vs. Rossview.
Take a look at the top players from the festive night of central Tennessee basketball.
2018 G Justin Mcmurry (Stati0n Camp)
Beech’s 2-3 zone managed to hold down the Station Camp Bison decently. Mcmurry did slice up the top two players more than once. He has decent quickness and strength. Unlike his teammates, Mcmurry finished after contact.
2018 WG Mitchell Sorenson (Beech)
Beech’s first three quarters were not pretty. Turnovers, fouls, and missed shots kept the game close. In a sloppy game the rugged, determined players tend to thrive. Sorenson trudged through the muck and helped his team find hope.
Steal on the D end, and off reb on offensive end by @Sorenson3 . 30-25 Beech.

2018 G Jayson Brown (Beech)
Jayson hit sevearl important three-pointers. His triple at the end of the third quarter was much needed. More than once Beech felt like it was hunting points and Brown found them. Brown’s biggest contribution might have been an outside shot or two, but his free throws late proved critical.
2018 G Jayden Lockett (East Nashville)
East Nashville doesn’t really have any stars. Gene Holmes and Lockett both score a lot, but they don’t have to touch the ball for the Eagles to succeed. Friday night Lockett needed to hit shots as Rossview elected to sag into a noncommittal 2-3 zone. Without Lockett’s outside success the Hawks’ defense looked stout and impregnable for the first looks. Lockett’s shots really provided a great alternative option to the slash. He barely missed in the second half.
.@jaydenlockett24 having a night! 3 in transition. 45-38 East Nash.

2018 F Monte Catlett (East Nashville)
Like mentioned East Nashville needed second chances to get many of their points. Credit Catlett with creating those second chances. What a wonderful attacker of the glass, Catlett found numerous misses.
