Recruiting Report: Jermaine Hamlin (2019)
Lincoln center Jermaine Hamlin is one of the more intriguing post prospects in the 2019 class. He has legit size at 6’8” with strength and athleticism. Hamlin is built like a D1 prospect already. He had a quick finish inside. Overall fairly raw offensively. High points rebounds. Impacts the game most on the defensive end with his shot blocking and altering others in the lane. Should be monitored by low-major D1 programs at this stage.
Where has he seen the biggest growth in his game over the fall?
“Since July I have shot it better out from the paint and attack more than I am used too.”
He discussed his spring and summer with Quad City Elite 16U.
“It went pretty well. I thought I did better than I expected too. We had good team work.”
What is his role for his high school team at Lincoln?
“Coaches expect me to be a defensive player. That is what our program is built around. Coach wants us to turn people over.”
Hamlin says a pair of MVC schools are showing interest.
“Lately I haven’t talked to many schools. Mostly Drake and some other Missouri Valley schools like Northern Iowa.”
