Prospect Watch: Hunter Burchill (2018)
Hunter Burchill is back on the court for Valley City and so far his team is 2-2 on the year. For Hunter his only care this season is that his team progresses.
“So far I’ve learned my team is hard working and always have each other’s backs no matter what happens,” Burchill said. “Our challenges coming up are going through the Eastern Dakota Conference and have a hard stretch of some good teams.”
The Hi-Liners have defeated Lisbon and Kindred but Burchill and his team wants to improve in the EDC. So far they’ve had a tough time but they have the potential to improve, especially as Hunter recovers from his leg injury.
“As a goal for a team we want to start winning some EDC games and make the EDC tournament and make a run after that,” Hinter said. “My goal is to lead the team to the EDC tournament and do anything my team needs me to do to get the win.”
Valley City is a smaller team with only one true big so even though Hunter isn’t fully recovered from his leg injury they still need his intelligence at several spots. The injury has hurt Hunter’s prospect status but when he’s recovered he’s a player that schools should look at.
The injury is coming along.
“I haven’t had to much college interest with me at the moment,” Hunter said. “The knee so far is holding up. I’m still trying to get comfortable to do what I can and can’t do.”
