Prospect Spotlight: Zack Johnson (2019)
Zack Johnson – 6’2” | G | Indiana Faith 2019 | Noblesville High School
Zack Johnson is off to a quick start this season and has helped pace the Millers to a 2-2 start to the season. Johnson plays with Indiana Faith in the spring and summer. He is a starting wing prospect for the Noblesville Millers and plays a big role in their success.
Johnson is an athletic wing who excels at getting to the basket. His first step is deceptively quick and as a slasher, he has a good finishing package inside the lane. “Going to the basket is my strong suit while living from the free throw line.” Zack can get into the backline of the defense regularly and has the ability to elevate above the defense and finish at the rim.
“The season is going well. We have started strong. Just some simple mistakes that can be easily fixed. We are a very young team and it’s going to take time to grow and learn as a team and develop chemistry with one another.” Johnson is all about doing what he can do make the team successful.
The Millers rely heavily on their junior class to lead some of the younger guys and show them the ropes. “Some of my goals for the season are to grow and create better relationships with the players on my team.” As Noblesville progresses throughout the season, the young guys will pick up on Zack’s effort levels and enthusiasm on the floor.
“Goals I have for myself are to be the best teammate I can be and contribute the best I can to the team each and every night.” He can impact the game in many different facets. Getting to the rim is his strength, he can knock down jumpers with his smooth lefty stroke, he’s active on the glass, and he bring good athleticism to the wing.
As the season wears on, players start finding things that they can focus on in their game in practice and individual workouts. Zack has identified some areas that he sees as opportunities for improvement.
“I’d like to work on my ability to shoot the ball at a higher level and being able to play defense at a higher level.” Noblesville gives Johnson the opportunities to showcase his full abilities and will put him in some tough situations down the road. They are in need of someone to go to during crunch time and Zack wants to be ready when his number is called.
Noblesville will surprise some people this season and Johnson is looking to help lead the charge for the Millers.
