Player of the Week: Week 4
After a super close vote last week, it's time to vote for Player of the Week yet again! Here are the nominees for the week:
Anthony Wales, Fern Creek - The Senior PG was named MVP of the King of the Bluegrass as his Fern Creek team went 4-0 while beating Covington Catholic and avenging their lone loss to Trinity.
Jayden Scrubb, Trinity - The Senior wing led Trinity to a 3-1 record and runner up finish at the KOB. Against Cooper, Scrubb went for 32 points including 9-12 from 3 for the game. Scrubb is averaging 21 points and 8 rebounds for the season while shooting an incredible 55% from 3 on the year.
Hunter Stevens, Southwestern - Stevens led the Warriors to 4 wins on the week and the championship of the Derby Classic at Raceland. The Senior PG was named MVP of the tournament after having 36 points/8 assists/5 rebounds in the opener and 26 points/8 assists/ 5 rebounds in the second round. Stevens is currently averaging 29 PPG while shooting 55% from 3.
Dontaie Allen, Pendleton County - The reigning Player of the Week earned another nomination this week. Allen had a remarkable game at Mason County as he scored 46 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. The next night Dontaie scored 41 points to beat Belfry and is closing in on 2,000 career points.
Logan Thomas, Union County - Thomas, a senior forward, had a big week for the Braves. They went 2-1 while Thomas posted 30 points and 19 rebounds Wednesday, 20 points and 13 rebounds Thursday and 22 points and 22 rebounds on Friday.
Mickey Pearson, John Hardin - The Bulldogs went 3-1 on the week while their senior leader Pearson went for 22 and 11 against LaRue, 30 and 13 against Grant County and 32 points and 18 rebounds against Desales.
