PHI Daily Dish: A Strong Set of Tuesday Games Kick the Week Off
Yesterday’s Top Results:
Saturday, we saw a slate of games that were really good but there weren’t any big upsets but still a plethora of results that are eye opening. We highlight those games here from Saturday.
Riverton Parke 63, North Putnam 61 OT
The closest game of the night was an OT thriller that Riverton Parke escaped with the win from. This was a game that anyone could have won but after leading for the entire game, RP pulled it out in overtime. A good game on light night.
East Noble 61, Whitko 47
Whitko was looking for a key win in this one but it slipped away allowing East Noble to continue their undefeated streak to start the year. Whitko stayed with East Noble for the most part but they allowed them to pull away late in the game to take the victory.
Yesterday’s Top Performers:
Caleb Duncan (North Putnam) – 24 points
Jonathon Virostko (Riverton Parke) – 24 points
Today’s Top Games:
After a light start to the week, we have some really good games on deck for tonight. There are some upset opportunities and there are some games with really good matchups. We highlight those below.
Greenwood vs. Beech Grove
Beech Grove is out to a much better start than we thought they would be to start the year as they sit at 5-0 but they also haven’t really been challenged. They did beat Manual, but they have started to cool off. Greenwood is a very formidable opponent to test Beech Grove, a win for Beech Grove and they may gain some attention.
Martinsville vs. Indian Creek
This will be another game to test and see if Martinsville is legit. Indian Creek is 4-1 with just a strange loss to Cloverdale. Martinsville isn’t that talented, but they keep winning. This is a good test for Martinsville. Whoever comes out on top can chalk this up as a good win.
Wapahani vs. Frankton
Another great matchup in Frankton. Last week they welcomed the #1 team in, and now they are going to try and defend their own #1 ranking as a good Wapahani team comes to town. Wapahani is 6-1 and looking to knock of a team to make a name for themselves. A bit of a trap game for Frankton.
Castle vs. Wood Memorial
Wood Memorial was highly regarded coming into the season and they are just 3-3. Castle was thought to be down this year but Alex Hemenway has really stepped up. This one should be all Castle but Wood Memorial has some weapons so I wouldn’t be surprised if they won.
