Recruiting Report: Freeman Brou (2018)
Freeman Brou – 6’7” | F | Indy Heat Read 2018 | Northeastern High School
Freeman Brou has started to see his recruiting take off likely due to his breakout summer. Brou played with Spiece Indy Heat Red 2018 where he dominated on the glass and showed off his versatility on both ends of the floor. Northeastern graduated six seniors this past season but Freeman is looking to lead this team deep into the postseason his senior year.
“We’re doing really well. We have a lot of younger guys who have stepped up pretty big in workouts.” Northeastern may have lost some seniority but Brou likes the outlook for their season. The Knights are looking to him to help set the tone this year.
While taking on the leadership role, he has also made sure to focus on improving his game. “I have been working on refining my post skills quite a bit. Back to the basket when need be as well as being able to face up and shoot.”
Programs have been taking notice of the progression that Freeman has been making. He currently holds offers from Indiana University South Bend and Lourdes University. He has visited both of these schools along with Denison University, Depauw University, Clarke University, and Malone University. He is also receiving more interest from a list of schools including Anderson University, Wabash College, Holy Cross College, Manchester University, Grace College, Washington and Jefferson CollegeUniversity, and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Freeman is looking to get into Business with future plans to go to Law School.
Brou has always been a consistent impact player on both backboards. He plays with great energy and uses his length well to block shots and grab tough rebounds. As he has progressed through high school, he has become more of a threat scoring the ball as well. Freeman has a soft touch around the basket and has added the mid-range jumper to his game. He’s consistently taking advantage of his mismatches on offense and doing it with great success.
Freeman wants to challenge this young team to make a postseason run while also getting himself in the mix for the Indiana Senior All-Star Team.
With the development he’s made and the interest he’s pulling in, look for Freeman Brou to have a solid senior season with the Knights.
