Recruiting Report: Ethan Brittain-Watts (2019)
Ethan Brittain-Watts – 6’2” | PG | Indy Heat EYBL 2019 | Culver Military Academy
Ethan Brittain-Watts is one of the most complete players in the Class of 2019 in Indiana. He gets after it on both ends of the floor and at the top of the list for on-ball defenders. Ethan is coming off a great summer with Spiece Indy Heat EYBL as they finished in the Final Four at the Peach Jam. He is looking to lead a young Culver Military Academy team to a deep postseason run as one of the frontrunners for Class 3A.
“Workouts have been going good. We all got a lot better this preseason. Getting strong and better every day.” Culver will be looking towards Ethan to take over as the leader this season. They will have some young guys that are going to step up into some big roles including Nick Hittle (2020) and Trey Galloway (2020). They both saw varsity time last season but are looking to have a bigger impact this season. Culver is also looking to get a few of their key guys back from football as their season wraps up.
Ethan has been working to add different elements to his game as a ball heavy point guard in the offseason. He has been focusing on his decision making coming off ball screens and reading the secondary defender after beating his man. He’s also placed some focus on off the ball movement and reading his defender coming off screens.
Ethan has a smooth stroke from deep but he is even better when he gets into the lane and creates opportunities for himself and others. He finishes well with both hands around the rim, through and around contact. He has added the floater to his offensive arsenal and had great success using it this summer on the EYBL Circuit.
He has been on many program’s radars for quite some time and is looking to continue impressing and earning interest. Coming off this summer, Ethan is looking to build on the foundation that he has built with mid-major and high-major interest.
He has taken visits to Wisconsin University, Purdue University, Ball State University, and Miami (OH) University this fall. He’s looking to get to Toledo University, Cleveland State University, and the University of Iowa here soon.
“I’m just patiently waiting for the season. Monday’s the day, so we’re going to get after it.” Culver is poised for a great season behind their experienced and highly talented point guard.
Keep a close watch on Ethan Brittain-Watts of Culver Military Academy. He is going to lead this team late into the season and showcase the full package all year. All around complete player with a major on both ends of the floor while mixing it up on the backboards.
