Recruiting Report: Emmanuel Tor (2018)
Emmanuel Tor of Sioux Falls O’Gorman, a 6-foot-2, 160 pound senior combo guard, is hoping to help the Knights respond well after a state title season.
A lot of production must be replaced from the 16-17 team and Tor worked hard this off-season to be a contributor.
“This off-season I worked out with Kasib Powell , Shane Hennen, and Kyle Kilgore a lot,” Emmanuel told PHD. “I played with BBA Force National throughout the whole summer and went to team camps with our varsity team at O’Gorman.
“My junior year I transferred over to OG from Roosevelt, and the season went pretty smooth it ended up being very memorable with us winning a state championship.”
To be a factor Tor has worked both in the weight room and in the gym improving his skills.
“A few things I’ve been trying to focus on for this upcoming season would be getting bigger and stronger, tightening up my handles and getting a consistent jumper, and being a leader for the younger guys in our program,” Tor said.
“This year we have a few returning seniors, and some younger guys that’ll be fighting for some playing time. With us losing six seniors from lasts years team, this year will obviously be harder for us to stay on top since we have a target on our backs. But I’m confident in the guys we have this year, I believe we’ll be a solid team.”
Knights should be solid but with so many new faces it’s tough to predict what they will be. Emmanuel is ready to take on whatever role he’s asked to take on.
“I don’t really have any individual goals for this season, I just want to help our team win games,” Tor said.
“Whether that’s guarding the opposing teams best player or playing the 4 or 5 since we’re short handed. Our team goal would definitely be winning another state championship in March.”
Tor wants to play college basketball although so he’s hoping to make a nice impression this winter.
