KC (Mo.) Most Improved Teams
A look at some of the Kansas City’s most improved teams as the season gears up for the start next week.
Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Tigers
These guys are only a few years removed from having played some really good basketball and were undefeated on the way to the Final Four. However, heavy losses to graduation led to a rough patch a year ago, but they are poised for a big rebound this season. They will likely be led by 6’6 2018 Will Eames, a talented offensive player who gets buckets from all over the floor. Mix in 2020 SF Jaden Moore and 2018 SG/SF Somaj Brewer and we see the Tigers taking a big leap forward.
Rockhurst (Mo.) Hawklets
On paper, Rockhurst appeared talented a year ago, but this year, they are a year older and a year wiser and appear poised for a huge season. Rockhurst will be led by 2018 PG Xavier Rhodes, a talented player who can get to the bucket with ease. Also in the mix is 2019 SG Glen McClintock, 2019 Dalen Ridgnal and others.
Lee’s Summit North (Mo.) Broncos
The Broncos have a talented group of guards led by 2019 Javaunte Hawks (5’10), 2019 Mikel Henderson (5’11) and 2018 Logan Jenkins (6’3). They will be led by 2018 PF Elijah Farr (6’7) who is a talented inside-out big man who can shoot from the perimeter and handle the ball. Like Rockhurst, Lee’s Summit North put together a sub-.500 record last season.
Oak Park (Mo.) Northmen
It’s hard to say a team that went 19-8 a year ago will be significantly better, but we see Oak Park as being a top 10 team throughout the season and taking things to another level. They will be led by Ochai Agbaji, one of the state’s premier guards, as well as 2018 Kaden Evans (6’2), a talented shooter, 2018 Jhaidyn Richardson (6’4) and others.
