Why A Frontrunner: The reason this Brebeuf Jesuit team is a front runner is because of how stacked their roster is with upperclassmen. They are in a very difficult 3A Sectional but they are probably the most veteran team with a roster built to handle many different styles of play. They have two “bigs” in Brennan Fitzgerald and Josh Haubry that are going to be able to play away from the rim but still provide an inside presence. They also have a dominant scorer in Myja White that took some big steps this summer in his development. They have so many players with a coach that has as much experience as anyone. If they can make it out of their Sectional, things should be much easier.
Outlook: For Brebeuf, they have a very difficult schedule especially as they open with Cardinal Ritter and Broad Ripple in their first two games. They should be good but their record might not be a direct reflection of that with just how loaded their schedule is. At the end of the day, though, they have so much talent and only have to get out of their Sectional with a potential Regional matchup being much easier. This team could be a Semistate contender at their high end.
