Prospect Watch: KeShawn Laframboise (2019)
Mandan guard KeShawn Laframboise is entering his junior year and after a nice summer with the North Dakota Phenom the potential is there for KeShawn to help his squad.
PHD watched Keshawn play a few times this 16u season and was impressed with the way he was able to knock down shots from the perimeter.
“The top highlights of the AAU season for me were winning the Summer Slam twice and being able to go to Las Vegas and do what I love an that’s playing basketball,” Laframboise said.
“Where I personally think I improved would definitely be my defense an work ethic also being able to handle an control the ball an making the right decision.”
KeShawn played junior varsity for Bismarck last year but has since moved to Mandan. To help their program KeShawn has a few things he is focused on in terms of improvement.
“To physically get stronger an continue to work on my defensive effort an shooting ability an decision making in game time situations,” Keshawn said.
“I think we are going to be a good team this year and are looking to get back to the state tournament this year and playing hard this year and leaving nothing out there.”
Keshawn patterns his game after some of the best in basketball at a few different levels.
“Probably my biggest role model would be Stephen Curry because he’s a man of God,” Laframbosie said.
“Another big influence on me would be Bronson Koenig, he’s goning to be the first Native American to play in the NBA and he went to a D1 college for basketball at Wisconsin.
“Some of my favorite hoopers are Curry and Kyrie because of his handles an Kawhi Leonard because he’s the only player in the league who can play offense and defense.”
What are Keshawn’s goals this winter as a junior?
“Too play hard and help get my name out there because I’m a junior and only have two years left. I want go to college for basketball but also to play good team ball and defense an hopefully make it to the state tournament.”
